Hey, my name is Reiley Gallardo you can just call me Reiley or Rei for short if you wanted. I am a art major aiming for animation in the future, I am also a Creative writing minor. I'm hoping to learn about different methods that were used for art in the past during this course.
I really find this art piece Beautiful. There is the contrast with the color and monochrome. You can talk about the depth Between the fore and background. You can even look at it in a story telling way. Maybe she is bringing color to his world. Maybe there are two different entities one Black and white like for example Death the other colorful kind of like life. He of course has the full story on his post on DeviantArt and even made a comic off it but that's not what we are talking about. Has for my criteria i just listed has why I think it's beautiful its subjective. I think it's really hard to be Objective when it comes to art has a artist myself. Since some of your feelings and emotions tend to lead to your judgment on art.
Hi Reiley! I would like to add on some thoughts regarding the artwork you selected. I like the abstract colors and shapes in the upper left region surrounding the girl. I agree with your judgement that there is some form of storytelling going on here. In general, do you think narrative usually factors into why you think artwork is beautiful? Thank you for sharing.
ReplyDeleteHello Reiley! I definitely agree with your thoughts on the artwork. There are so many different ways to interpret a piece such as this. There is very little facial expression to illustrate what is being felt within the painting. I, personally, see it as two people from different worlds learning about the other. But, as you said, the art is very subjective, and it is a beautiful piece.
